KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City have identified the victim as 25-year-old Anthony Canaday, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Just before 9a.m. Tuesday, officers were in the area of E 55th and Paseo Boulevard when they heard several sounds of gunshots. Officers began to canvass the area where they believed the gunshots came from when a shooting call was reported nearby, according to Gonzalez.
Officers were flagged down by several people on scene advising someone had been shot. Police located a victim later identified as Canady outside of a vehicle parked in the area unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Officers rendered medical aid until EMS arrived and declared the Canady deceased on scene.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently unknown and no one is in custody. Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to begin gathering evidence and to collect witness statements.This is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
