Kansas woman accused of distributing meth

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges following an arrest. 

Just after 3:30 p.m. Friday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Ranger pickup truck in the 100 block of NW Lyman Road, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.

During the investigation, deputies located a firearm, illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. They also arrested the driver Sarah R. Chaplin, 38, of Topeka, and transported her to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that included possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felon in possession of a firearmk criminal use of a weapon, illegal use of a telecommunication device and  other drug violations.
