Kansas City—Authorities are working to determine the cause of a building fire in Kansas City.
Just before 3p.m. Wednesday, KCFD companies were dispatched to a reported building fire in the 6700 block of Independence Avenue, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.

The first arriving company reported smoke and fire showing from a vacant single-story commercial building and deployed two hose lines. Companies fought the fire from the exterior due to the instability of the structure and placed it under control at 3:07 p.m.
Searches of the structure came back "all clear." There were no injuries reported.
