DOUGLAS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a death at the city’s homeless camp site have identified the woman who died as 36-year-old Ashley Sawyer of Lawrence.
Just after 8 pm Tuesday, the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical. First responders found Sawyer unresponsive inside a tent, beyond life-saving measures, according to police spokesperson Laura McCabe.
Investigators have not reported any indications that a crime occurred or additional details.
