WYANDOTTE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 1:30a.m. Sunday in Wyandotte County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Chevy Camaro driven by Xzvaier N. Freeman, 20, Kansas City, Mo., was westbound on Interstate 70 just before 57th Street.
The Camaro struck a 2003 Chevy Malibu driven by Amiyah S. Hatten, 21, Kansas City, Mo. that had become broadside in the road. After the collision the Malibu rolled into the ditch.
Hatten was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported a passenger in the Camaro identified as Kahmani D. Hollinquest, 20, Wilmington CA., to KU Medical Center. Freeman and a second passenger in the Camaro were not injured. The Kansas Turnpike Authority did not report seat belt information.
