U.S. Marshals arrest Kansas felon for fatal motorcycle crash

SHAWNEE COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities  investigating a fatal motorcycle crash have made an arrest.

Just after 9:30a.m. June 30 at around 9:40 a.m. police respondedPhilip Billard Municipal Airport located at 3600 NE Sardou Avenue on a report of a motorcycle crash, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Koenen.

Upon arrival, officers located the driver of the motorcycle later identified as Dylan J. Hernandez, 26, Topeka, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

During the course of the investigation it was discovered there was an incident prior to the crash. The investigation revealed that Tommy L. Sherrill Sr., 51 was involved in the that incident.

With assistance from the United States Marshals Service, Sherrill Sr. was located Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of SE Golden Ave. and taken into custody. Sherrill Sr. was later arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges2nd degree reckless homicide, Aggravated assault
