After securing home court for the first round at sub-state, the Wamego boys' basketball team will open postseason play on Tuesday when they welcome in the Ottawa Cyclones.

The Raiders come into this contest as the 7-seed at 12-8 while the Cyclones enter as the 10-seed at 10-10 having won four of their last five games.

While these two teams have not seen each other at any point over the last five seasons, each will be eager to take the first step toward punching a ticket to the 4A state tournament when the two collide in this semifinal.

"We are happy to have earned a home game," Raider head coach Troy Hemphill said. "We know that Ottawa will present a huge challenge for us and we are looking forward to it."

With just four teams in each bracket, the winner of this matchup will earn a spot in the sub-state championship game, where they will await either the 2-seed in Eudora (16-4) or the 15-seed in Independence (6-14) on Friday.

Tip-off between the Raiders and Cyclones is scheduled for 7:00 on the campus of Wamego High School.
