Kan. man hospitalized after semi crash that closed portion of I-70

SALINE COUNTY —A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 10:30a.m. Monday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Freightliner semi driven by Ronnie Lee Hamby, Jr., 46, Ellsworth, was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of Hedville Road. The sem rear-ended a 2022 Peterbilt semi driven by  Yaotzhin Daniel  Ramirez-Montante,  35, Temixco, Mexico.

EMS transported Hamby to Salina Regional Health Center.  Ramirez-Montante was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.

The crash temporarily closed westbound traffic on the Interstate for a couple of hours.

SALINE COUNTY —According to KanDrive, westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are now open. A two vehicle crash on Monday morning temporarily closed both lanes just west of the Hedville-Culver exit.

SALINE COUNTY —All westbound traffic on Interstate 70 in Saline County is currently shut down due to a two-vehicle semi crash just west of the Hedville-Culver exit 244, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

All westbound traffic will be required to exit at the 244 exit and will be guided north to an alternate route.
