LINN COUNTY —Students, staff and the bus driver avoided injury after an incident on a bus trip just before 3p.m. Thursday in Linn County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2021 IC school bus driven by Steven Houston, 44, Fort Scott, was southbound on U.S. 69 just north of E 300th Road in Linn County.
The bus blew the rear driver side outside dual tire. The driver attempted to "limp" the bus to a safe stopping location, but a fire started where the tire blew. The fire spread to the rest of the vehicle. All the occupants, 30 students and 3 adults, were able to safely exit the vehicle.
There were no injuries.
