KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating another deadly shooting in Kansas City.
Just before 2a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to a shooting at 28th Terrace and Cleveland in Kansas City, according to Police Captain Jake Becchina.
Officers were led to a wooded area next to an empty parking lot. They located an adult male shooting victim later identified as 30-year-old Lawrence D. Pickett, who was unresponsive.
Officers rendered aid and called in EMS who transported Pickett to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates Pickett and an unknown suspect had an interaction at that location that led to the suspect firing a shot or shots at Picket striking him.
Crime scene investigators processed the scene and detectives canvassed for witnesses. Police have released no suspect information or additional details.
