KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating teenagers playing with a gun that led to a shooting.
Just before noon Monday, police were dispatched to a home in the 10600 block of College Avenue in Kansas to investigate a reported shooting in which the victim was a juvenile, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
At the home, police found a teenager suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS transported the teen to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the initial investigation into the incident revealed teenagers were playing with a gun at that location when it reportedly "accidentally" went off, striking one of the teens.
Police released no additional details.
