I-70 now open in both directions

The Kansas Department of Transportation has fully reopened westbound and eastbound lanes of I-70.

Roads are snow packed and icy in areas, and crews are treating and clearing. Motorists are advised to stay alert, slow down and allow extra room around KDOT equipment.

RILEY COUNTY - The Kansas Department of Transportation and the Kansas Highway Patrol are reminding travellers that westbound Interstate 70remains closed between Salina and Oakley.

Crews are continuing to work to remove vehicles and snow from the roadway.

Once roads are cleared and conditions will allow for safe travel the highway will then be reopened.

There is no estimated time for westbound Interstate 70 to reopen.

Also, as a reminder, driving around road closure signs is illegal.

KDOT is still advising motorists to delay travel if possible.
