KCPD: Man killed during fight outside business

KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City. 

Just before 1p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to report of a shooting in the 8700 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.

First responders were directed to a parking lot in front of a business where an adult male was located suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Several individuals were rendering medical aid until KCPD officers took over. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Preliminary investigation indicates an argument took place outside of a business between several different people. The argument escalated to gunfire and the victim was struck. An adult male suspect was taken into custody at the scene for further questioning. 

This incident is being investigated as a homicide,according to Gonzalez.
