SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Wichita firefighter who died in the line of duty on Thursday has been identified as 27-year-old Ty Voth, according to Wichita Fire Chief Tammy Snow.
Ty was a 5 year veteran of the Wichita Fire Department. "He was selfless, dedicated and always put others before himself. Authorities will share details on honoring Ty as they become available.
On Friday, Snow released no additional details.

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Wichita Firefighter who was injured at the scene of a fire on Thursday has died, according to Wichita Fire Chief Tammy Snow. She did not release the name of the firefighter.
Just after 3p.m. crews responded to a fire at a home in the 9800 block of South Laura near Haysville after a driver on the Kansas Turnpike reported the fire to 911, according to Sedgwick County Fire Marshall Brad Crisp.
Crews brought the fire under control and the firefighter who died was the only reported injury. Snow is expected to release additional details on the fatal incident Friday. The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office and Sedgwick County Fire officials are investigating.
Crews from Sedgwick County, Derby and McConnell Air Force Base also responded to the fire.
