
KANSAS CITY— Law enforcement continues to investigate the shooting that occurred just before 4:30p.m. Monday at the Price Chopper, 2101 N. State Route 7 Highway in Pleasant Hill, Missour, according to a media release fro the Pleasant Hill Police Department.
The Cass County Prosecutor’s Office has formally charged 27-year-old Allen Prince of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, in connection with the incident. Warrants have been issued for the following charges of First Degree Murder, Three counts of Armed Criminal Action and Two counts of First Degree Assault.
Prince remains in custody with no bond and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at a local hospital.
The deceased victim has been identified as 45-year-old Amy Coon of Strasburg, Missouri. Amy was a Pleasant Hill native and a 1999 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to many throughout the community.
A 16-year-old Pleasant Hill juvenile also sustained injuries during the incident and remains in stable condition at a local hospital.
Investigators have determined that two individuals in the parking lot who were legally armed confronted the suspect during the incident, at which time the suspect turned the firearm on himself.
The Pleasant Hill Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the Cass County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating a deadly shooting outside a grocery stor in the Kansas City suburb of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Just before 4:30p.m. Monday, Pleasant Hill emergency personnel responded to a reported shooting at the Price Chopper, 2101 N. State Route 7 Highway in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, according to a media release.
Three individuals were shot during the incident.
A 45-year-old woman who was shopping at the store, died at the scene, according to Police Chief Tommy Wright.
A 17-year-old boy who works at the store was hospitalized after the shooting. A 27-year-old suspect, who suffered a self-inflicted wound survived. He was transported to a hospital and then placed in custody, according to police.
Emergency responders arrived quickly on scene. The Pleasant Hill Police Department continues to investigate the incident and the circumstances surrounding it. Check the Post for more information as it is released on Tuesday.
