Kan. man accused of stalking, home burglary

SHAWNEE COUNTY – A Topeka man has been arrested following a residential burglary investigation in Topeka.

Just before 4p.m. March 18, police responded to a reported burglary in the 1200 block of SW Hillsdale Street, according police spokesperson Rosie Nichols.

It was reported someone had damaged property and entered a residence. On March 20, around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the same residence for the report of a second burglary, property damage and items that had been stolen.

On March 25, 2025, around 10 a.m., officers observed a person matching the description of the suspect in the 4100 block of SW Huntoon Street. The man was later identified as Jeremy Boone Rath, 25, of Topeka.

As a result of the investigation, Rath was later arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Burglary; Dwelling to commit felony, theft, DV, or sexually motivated crime, Stalking; Reckless Conduct Causing Fear Person/Family, Theft <$1,500 From Building, Criminal damage to property; Without consent value < $1,000 and Use/possess w/intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body.
