MANHATTAN, Kan. - Facing a five run deficit after four innings, the Rock Creek Mustangs rallied back to an 8-5 win over Bishop Ward in the 3A State Quarterfinal round at Tointon Family Stadium on Thursday.
In the fifth, Brooks Whaley, Caden Vinduska, and Mason Sturdy all tallied hits to get onto the scoreboard.
The sixth saw four free baserunners, thanks to three walks and a hit batter, followed by a passed ball, and the Mustangs would take the lead with just one base hit and a pair of sacrifices.
Rock Creek will advance to the semifinal round tomorrow morning from Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan, looking for a trip to the Championship.
