MANHATTAN — K-State senior guard Gabby Gregory continues to add to her trophy case this season, as she has been named to the Dawn Staley Award Later Season Watch List by The Phoenix Club of Philadelphia. Gregory is the first Wildcat to be named to the Staley Award Watch List.

In 2013, the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia established the Dawn Staley Award to recognize the nation's best guard in Women's Division I college basketball, tying one of the most accomplished women's basketball players in the world from the Philadelphia public league to the nation's best guard in women's college basketball.

The Dawn Staley Award is given annually to a player who exemplifies the skills that Dawn possessed throughout her career; ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win.

Gregory, in her first season with the Wildcats, has established new career season-highs in a number of statistical categories including: points, field goals made, 3-point field goals made and steals. With her career-highs in points (472), free throws made (124) and 3-point field goals made (60), Gregory is one of three players in the nation with 450 or more points, 100 or more free throws and 60 or more 3-point field goals made this season.

The 2023 All-Big 12 candidate ranks second in the Big 12 in scoring average (19.7 ppg) and free throw percentage (.861), fifth in 3-point field goals per game (2.50) and 3-point field goal percentage (.319), seventh in field goal percentage (.407), eighth in minutes played per game (33.26) and 17th in rebounds per game (5.17).

Gregory, a candidate for the 2023 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, is the only player in the nation currently averaging 19 or more points, 5 or more rebounds, 2 or more assists and shooting 85 percent or better from the free throw line.

A product of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gregory is pacing the Big 12 in games with 20 or more points (15) and is tied for the league-lead for games with 30 or more points (2).
