UPDATE: EF2 tornado northeast of Kansas City Sunday

KANSAS CITY —Severe weather including damaging winds, flooding rains and tornadoes. hit the Kansas City area Sunday.

The National Weather Service preliminary damage survey results indicated  the Purdin, Missouri tornado  rated an EF-2 with estimated max winds of 120 mph. The tornado started at 4:31p.m. and ended at 5:18p.m. Purdin is located northeast of Kansas City.

The preliminary damage survey results dfor the two tornadoes that impacted Sedalia Sunday night indicated they were both EF-0 tornadoes. One south-southeast of Sedalia and the other just east along Highway 50, 90 minutes southeast of Kansas City.

There were no injuries or deaths.

KANSAS CITY —Severe weather that included damaging winds, heavy rain and tornadoes hit the Kansas City area on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

There were no injuries reported.

The last time tornadoes him the Kansas City area in October was in October of 2018 affecting the towns of Pickering in Nodaway County and Judson in Sullivan County, Knoxville in Ray County, Polo in Caldwell County and Spickard in Grundy County, according to the National Weather Service.
