KANSAS CITY—Police are investigating another homicide in Kansas City after a teen injured in a shooting on Labor Day died this week.
Just after 6:30p.m. September 2, police responded to a shooting in the 7500 block of East 87th Street, according to a media release.
First responders found a teen, later identified as 17-year-old Lipara Westmoreland suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a nearby store.
Investigators determined the Westmoreland was standing in the parking lot of the store armed with a gun when there was an exchange of gunfire with other unknown suspects.
EMS transported the teen to an area hospital for treatment and he died on October 3. Police have not reported an arrest or additional details.
