No investigation after accident at gun and knife show in Kansas

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement will conduct no further investigation of an accidental discharge of a firearm that occurred last weekend at a Gun and Knife Show at Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center, 225 W Douglas Avenue in Wichita.

There was an accidental discharge of a handgun by a patron, according to Sedgwick County Sheriff's Lt. Nathan Gibbs. The firearm was located on a dealer’s table, according GIbbs. No one was injured.   The case was documented and closed.

The sheriff's office released no additional details including the model or caliber of the gun involved.  Management for Midwest Arms Collectors or MAC Shows, who are in charge of the event refused to comment on the incident.
