KANSAS CITY— Two people were injured in a small plane crash that occurred just after 8:30a.m. Monday in Lafayette County, Missouri, approximately 35 miles east of Kansas City.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a two-seat, single-engine Zenith CH 601XLB airplane was eastbound after taking off from the Grain Valley airport.
Just before 9a.m., the aircraft made an emergency landing near Highway 131 and Oakwood Drive in Odessa, according to the patrol. The pilot and a passenger had minor injuries.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating. The name of the pilot has not been released.
