JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — Kade Graff smacked a base hit down the left field line, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, as the Brigade defeated the Lawrence Travelers 4-3.
Tristan Wolf pitched 7 innings in the effort, giving up two earned runs, but it would be Zach Ebert who tallied the win, pitching a spotless top of the ninth.
Junction City had not played since sweeping a double-header against the Topeka Golden Giants, but the five day layoff didn't seem to bother the Brigade. Trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the seventh, JC would tack one on the board in that inning, and add one more the each the eighth and the ninth to come from behind for the victory.
Junction City improved to 12-7 on the season with the win and stay in first place in the Mid-Plains League. The Brigade will take on the Lawrence Travelers again tomorrow from Lawrence before taking them on in the series-finale at Rathert Field Saturday night at 7 p.m..
