Strong winds outside pushed Kansas Wesleyan men's tennis inside on Friday as the Coyotes hosted the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles at The Pines.
The Coyotes would come away with a 7-0 win over the Eagles.
KWU took all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Bryce Ware (SO/Amarillo, Texas) and Garrison Wright (SO/Maize, Kan.) beat Clement Martin and Diego Navarro 6-2; Alex Sherer (SO/Rossville, Kan.) and Gavin Chavez (FR/Topeka, Kan.) beat Preston Callahan and Richard Hoyte 6-3; and Luke Craft (SO/Manhattan, Kan.) and Adam Hanson (FR/Edmond, Okla.) beat Adam Spencer and Michael McHugh 6-1.
Kansas also took all six singles flights to sweep the match.
Ware beat Martin 6-0, 6-4; Sherer beat Navarro 6-1, 3-6, 6-3; Wright beat Hoyte 7-6, 6-4; Hanson beat Callahan 6-1, 6-3; Collin Phelps (FR/Salina, Kan.) beat Spencer 6-1, 6-1; and Craft beat McHugh 6-2, 6-3.
KWU improved to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the KCAC with the victory.
The Coyotes will welcome KCAC newcomer Evangel on Saturday at 2:30 with the match at Salina Tennis Center.
