KANSAS CITY —A man injured in a shooting in Kansas City has died five days after the crime.
Just before 8p.m. July 21, police responded to a shooting in the area of 13th and The Paseo. First responders found a victim later identified as 19-year-old Xavier Williams on the ground, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.
EMS transported Williams to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died on Friday, according to Forte'.
Investigators learned Williams had an interaction with an unknown suspect at the scene of the shooting. An altercation escalated to shots fired which led to Williams’ injuries.
Police have not reported an arrest or released details on a suspect.
