K-STATE OPENS BIG 12 PLAY AT OKLAHOMA ON NEW YEAR’S DAY

  1. Kansas State (8-3) opens up Big 12 play on Saturday, as the Wildcats travel to Norman, Okla., to face the Oklahoma Sooners (10-2) at 7 p.m., CT at the Lloyd Noble Center. The game will air nationally on ESPNU.
  2. K-State has been an extended holiday break, as the Wildcats saw their game against North Florida (4-9) on Dec. 29 get cancelled due to COVID-19 issues within the Ospreys’ program. It marked the second time that the squad has faced such an issue, as their original opponent on Dec. 29 - Morgan State - were also forced to cancel due to COVID-19.
  3. K-State does enter the New Year with some momentum, having won 6 of its last 7 games with the only loss in that span coming by 1-point to Marquette on Dec. 8. The Wildcats have also started the year with consecutive road victories at Wichita State and Nebraska for the first time since the 2017-18 season, holding both squads to less than 60 points.
