Kansas woman arrested after forgery, ID theft investigation

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating alleged forgery and ID theft have made an arrest.

On Monday night, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SW Gage Avenue in Topeka, according to Police Captain Jerry Monasmith.

During the investigation, officers located items from an ongoing forgery and identity theft investigations along with illegal narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, Stacie Espinosa, 41 years of age, of Topeka, was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Identity Theft, Forgery, Theft, Making a false information, Possession of opiate, opium, narcotic, Possession of drug paraphernalia with intent for distribution and Driving on a suspended driver's license.

She is no longer in custody, accordig to online jail records.
