KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating a double-fatal accident that occurred just before 8:30p.m. Sunday in Kansas City have identified the victims as 36-year-old Amber Rainey and 33-year-old Christa R. Brodigan, according to Kansas City Police Captain Jake Becchina.
Investigators determined a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Amber Rainey was eastbound on Parvin Road. at a high rate of speed. For reasons unknown, the SUV crossed the double yellow lines and struck a westbound Ford Transit van driven by Christa R. Brodigan, head-on.
The Rainey declared deceased at the scene. EMS transported two juvenile passengers of the Mitsubishi, Brodigan and an adult and juvenile passengers of the Ford to a local hospital. Rainey was later pronounced deceased. The others had non-life-threatening injuries. Rainey was not wearing a seat belt, according to Becchina.
