This will be the second postseason meeting between the schools and the first since March 82, 2007, a triple-overtime win by the Cowgirls in the WNIT semifinals. The Wildcats are 17-9 all-time against current members of the Mountain West Conference, with the last meeting against an MWC program coming on December 21, 2012 at UNLV, an 80-54 K-State win.

Wyoming, making the program’s 11th WNIT appearance, defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday night, 75-41, to reach the second round. The Cowgirls are led by sophomore center Allyson Fertig and graduate student guard Quinn Weidemann. Fertig, a 2023 All-Mountain West Conference Team selection, is averaging 13.4 points per game and 8.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks this season. Weidemann, also a 2023 All-MWC recipient and MWC All-Defensive Team member, is averaging 11.2 points and 2.4 assists.

The Wildcats have been paced during the 2022-23 season by All-Big 12 First Team selection Gabby Gregory and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention recipient, Serena Sundell. Gregory and Sundell are the 10th tandem in program history to combine for 1,000 or more points in a season, as the duo have registered 1,079 points this season.

In the 2022-23 season, Gregory has established career season-highs in every statistical category including: scoring (608; 18.4 ppg), field goals made and attempted (188-of-465), three-point field goals made and attempted (77-of-244), free throws made and attempted (155-of-183), rebounding (178; 5.4 rpg), assists (66; 2.0 apg) and steals (24; 0.7 spg).
