
FORD COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities in SW Kansas captured a suspect wanted for murder in Tennessee.
On July 24, deputies with the Ford County Sheriff’s Office were alerted of a possible murder suspect out of Tennessee in Spearville, Kansas, according to Sheriff Bill Carr.
Deputies made contact with the suspect later identified as 25-year-old Eric L. Caffey and took him into custody.
He is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting of 42-year-old Christopher Young in Clarksville, Tennessee, according to Clarksville Police.
Just after 12:30a.m. May 13, officers found Young at a home and he had been shot multiple times.
He was taken to Tennova Medical Center where he died. On June 8, police in Tennessee arrested Amber Lynn Tanner, 24, of Hanceville, Alabama, in connection with the shooting death.
Caffey remains in the Ford County Detention Center pending extradition to Tennessee, according to Carr.
