FORD COUNTY—The Dodge City Police Department has confirmed that federal immigration enforcement personnel are operating in the Dodge City area. The department wrote on their social media page, "We understand that this may cause concern and strong emotions within our community. We ask everyone to remain peaceful, respectful, and mindful of the safety of others."
"Dodge City Police Department’s role remains the same: to maintain public safety, preserve the peace, and respond to criminal activity. Peaceful and lawful expression will be respected. However, threats, violence, property damage, obstruction, or other criminal conduct will be addressed as it would in any other circumstance, regardless of who is involved."
"DCPD does not have operational information and/or control regarding federal enforcement activity."
