KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 42-year-old Arelio Antonio-Lazaro, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Just before 7p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a reported shooting at an apartment near 12th and Askew in Kansas City, Missouri.
First responders found a man outside of the residence matching the suspect description. That individual was immediately taken into police custody for further investigation.
Officers began to search the residence for any potential victims of violent crime and located man in a bedroom suffering from life threatening gunshot trauma and an additional man unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid for both victim until EMS responded and took over.
Antonio-Lazaro was declared deceased at the scene and the additional victim was transported to an area hospital. Police released no additional details.
