FINNEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged threat at USD 457 in Garden City.
On Wednesday, police received a report about a possible criminal threat between students at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center, 3101 Belmont Street in Garden City, according to a media release.
Investigators learned that a 13-year-old student made statements that scared other students and made a specific threat toward one student. The Garden City Police Department will file an affidavit with the Finney County Attorney’s Office requesting charges of Criminal Threat on the 13-year-old student.
The Garden City Police Department and USD 457 encouraged parents to remind children to immediately report any information about any school safety-related incidents to administrators, staff and or police.
