Junction City used two home runs by Casey Steward to power the Brigade to an 8-6 win over the Sabetha Bravos at Rathert Field. Steward hit a grand slam home run in the 1st inning to help the Brigade take an early 5-0 lead and then another solo shot in the 3rd inning.
Tristan Wolf pitched 3 and 2/3 innings for Junction City, giving up four hits and four runs. Brian Bruxvoort pitched 3 and 1/1 innings, giving up five hits and one run.
The teams play again at 7 p.m. Friday in Sabetha and at 7 p.m. Saturday at Rathert Field.
