TOPEKA – Dr. Lee Norman, Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), held a press briefing Wedneday  to discuss coronavirus in Kansas.

He was joined by Dr. Susan Voorhees, a psychologist based in Topeka who specializes in the needs of children affected by trauma.

She addressed parents talking with their children as the prepare to return to school amid the pandemic.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Kansas increased by 698 to a total of 26,870 the state health department reported Wednesday afternoon.  Coronavirus deaths were reported at 349
