One of Kansas' most recognizable restaurant chains is under new ownership.
Spangles Restaurants announced that, effective July 9, 2026, the company has been acquired by the Hamideh family, ending nearly 50 years of ownership by founders Craig and Dale Steven.
The Steven brothers launched Spangles as a single restaurant and expanded it into a statewide brand with 26 locations across Kansas. Over the years, the chain has become known for its burgers, breakfast offerings and made-to-order menu items.
The Hamideh family said it plans to preserve the values, traditions and customer service that have helped make Spangles a favorite among Kansans while investing in the company's future.
The ownership transition is not expected to affect day-to-day operations, and no changes to restaurant locations, employees or menu offerings were announced.
Spangles has remained a family-owned business since its founding, making the acquisition a significant milestone in the company's history as it begins its next chapter under new ownership.
