SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a wanted Kansas felon after a 2-hour standoff with police.

Just after noon Wednesday, police were conducting a follow-up investigation to locate 36-year-old Justin Galvan in the 1900 block of South Hillside in Wichita, according to Officer Trevor Macy.

During their investigation, officers observed Galvan at a residence on that block and attempted to take him into custody, but he was able to get inside the home.

Galvan refused to exit the house and the Wichita Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) was called in to assist.

SWAT and WPD Crisis Negotiators were able to make contact with him and after two hours on scene he surrendered peacefully.

Galvan was transported to the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility and booked on outstanding warrants for aggravated weapons possession of meth, probation violations, felon in possession of a firearm, domestic violence, child support, intimidation and new charges from a recent police pursuit, according to Macy.   Galvan was due in court Thursday, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
