KANSAS CITY —A man has been charged in the fatal shooting on Wednesday of another man outside a apartment building in Midtown Kansas City, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Eryn D. Holt, 21, Independence, Missouri, faces felony charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were dispatched to an apartment building in Midtown Kansas City on a reported shooting.
Upon arrival they observed emergency responders preparing the victim, identified as 22-year-old Adrian Terry, for transport.
Terry had suffered a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased the hospital a short time later.
One live .40 caliber round and one spent casing were found at the scene. A witness reported Terry and Holt had been in an altercation outside the front doors of the building. Then Holt shot the Terry.
Holt walked back into the building lobby and collapsed. Other witnesses told police they also observed the shooting. Surveillance video also captured the shooting. Holt was observed to have nothing in his hands.
Prosecutors asked for a $200,000 cash bond.
