SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement in Saline County are investigating a woman accused in a rural Kansas burglary in February involving more than $1,000 in frozen beef and pork on multiple new allegations.
Just after 6:30a.m. August 2, police responded to a reported disturbance involving a woman wielding a hatchet and attempting to break into a home in the 400 Block of Baker Street, according to Saline Police Captain James Feldman.
Officers made contact with 52-year-old Andrea Randecker of Salina. She told police her cell phone had been stolen, and she had tracked it to this area and decided she was going to go into the residence where she thought phone was, according to Feldman.
Randecker allegedly damaged the door and its metal frame with the hatchet.
According to the police report, Randecker admitted that she intended to threaten the individual inside the residence if she gained entry. She was subsequently arrested on requested charges of attempted burglary and criminal damage to property.
In February, sheriff's deputies arrested her in connection with a burglary in the 4700 block of North Woodward Road in rural Saline County. Randecker and an accomplice stole more than $1,000 in frozen beef and pork, according to the Saline County Sheriff's office.
