KCPD: Man dead after road rage shooting near gas station

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating a deadly shooting in Kansas City, Missouri.

Just before 11p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the 10200 block of Wornall Road on a reported shooting, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.

First responders found a man, later identified as 39-year-old Kyle R. Hudson, in the gas station parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid until EMS arrived and transported Hudson to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. 

Preliminary information indicates this incident may have been a result of road rage. An adult male subject of interest remained on scene and was taken into custody by responding officers. Detectives are not currently seeking any additional persons of interest.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide. Police have not released the name of the victim.
