ATCHISON COUNTY, Kansas —One person died in an accident just before 4p.m. Saturday in Atchison County.
A 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jason Pelletier, 46, Kansas City, was northbound on U.S. 73 at Raven Hill Road, according to Atchison Police Chief Michael Wilson.
A westbound 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Melissa Parkison, 46, Leavenworth, entered U.S.73 and the motorcycle collided with the truck.
EMS transported Pelletier to the Atchison Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Wilson. They also transported his wife, Colleen Pelletier, a passenger on the motorcycle, to the hospital. Both were wearing helmets, according to Wilson. Police charged Melissa Parkison was with failure to yield.
