SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a shooting have a suspect in custody.
Just after 2.m. Wednesday, police responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of SW Polk Street in Topeka, according police spokesperson Rosie Nichols.
First responders located one individual with life-threatening injuries. That individual was then transported to a local hospital to be treated.
On Wednesday afternoon, investigators arrested 23-year-old Jeremy B. Rath of Topeka, on requested charges of Aggravated battery, Criminal possession of firearm, Felony obstruction and for two Warrants.
Police did not release on update on the condition of the victim.
