Per a report from ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Kansas City Chiefs Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy has emerged as a candidate for the now vacant USC Head Coach position.

The Trojans relieved Clay Helton from the position following a 42-28 home loss to Stanford on Saturday. Helton was 46-24 in his eight seasons with Southern California.

The connection, according to Schefter, is Bieniemy's So-Cal roots, having grown up not far from the USC campus. Bieniemy has been on the short list for head coaching positions all over the NFL as of late, as well as for his college Alma mater Colorado, who recently selected Karl Dorrell to lead their program instead.

In his tweet, Schefter reports that the USC position is one of only a few college jobs he would be interested in.
