Flint Hills Regional Council hires a new Executive Director

The Flint Hills Regional Council has hired a new executive director, Christy Rodriguez. She is currently the Program Director of Regional Reimagined and serves as a professor of practice within the College of Architecture, Panning & Design at Kansas State University.

Rodriguez came to the region after nearly 10 years with the Fort Worth Police Department as Program Support Administrator. Prior to her role there, she served four years until 2009 as Senior Planner at Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Department in the Advanced Plans division.

Rodriguez holds a Maser of Urban Planning degree from Texas A & M and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Urban and Regional Planning from Texas State University - San Marcos. 

Rodriguez will begin her role as the Executive Director on June 17th.

The Flint Hills Regional Council is a voluntary service association of local Kansas governments from Geary, Riley, Pottawatomie, Morris, Lyon, Dickinson, Clay, Chase and Wabaunsee counties and different municipalities and incorporated areas in those counties. The goal is to try and provide mutual benefits to the region via cooperation and partnership.
