Two 16-year-olds jailed for alleged Kan. auto theft

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two Kansas teen for alleged auto theft

Just after 10:30p.m. May 3, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a theft of a vehicle in the 3700 block of SE Howard Drive, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.

Just after 1a.m. on Monday, a deputy located a Toyota Camry that matched the description of the stolen vehicle traveling near NW Lyman Rd and NW Tyler Street in Topeka.  

The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle fled south on NW Tyler and crashed in the front yard of residence in the 1500 block of NW Polk Street. 

Police arrested Bryce C. Walker, 16, of Topeka, on requested  charges of Possession of stolen property, Flee and elude, Reckless driving, Possession of marijuana, Possession of paraphernalia, No Driver’s License and Other traffic violations

Another juvenile fled from the vehicle.  On Tuesday, Police located Denver A. Durosette, 16, of Topeka, in the 3600 block of SE 27th Street.  Durosette, who was also listed as a runaway, was transported to the Shawnee County Juvenile Department of Corrections on a requested charge of Felony Theft.
