SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Wichita Police Department employee on drug charges.

Just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers contacted the employee identified as 38-year-old Chad Michael Hobbick  after receiving information about his involvement with illegal narcotics.

He was arrested without incident and resigned from the department that day, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Hobbick faces requested charges of unlawful possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. The four-year employee worked in a support role for the Support Services Division and was not a police officer.  He is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.
