SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged aggravated assault
Just after 4:40 a.m. Saturday, police were contacted by a 32-year-old woman in the 800 block of South Mission Road in Wichita, according to officer Kevin Wheeler.
She reported a disturbance in a home and a suspect later identified as 28-year-old Porche Wilson fired a gun.
The woman ran from the home with her 10-year-old daughter and contacted the officers. Officers attempted to make contact with the occupants of the residence but were unsuccessful.
The WPD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team responded to the residence. Wilson peacefully surrendered and was arrested. SWAT located two other male adults and four children inside the residence. There were two 10-year-old boys, a four-year-old boy, and a two-year-old girl.
There were no injuries to the other occupants.
Officers arrested Wilson on requested charges of aggravated assault and criminal use of weapons, according to Wheeler.
