Kan. deputies follow tracks, arrest 2 for alleged theft

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects for 

Just after 7a.m. April 26, deputies responded to 4780 County Road 4600 for report of a 2027 Honda 4-wheeler and 2016 Honda Pioneer side-by-side, according to sheriff Ron Wade.

The owners had followed the vehicle's tracks into a business in the city of Independence. In addition, multiple community members provided tips about where the stolen vehicles had gone.

Just after 5p.m., a citizen called the sheriff's office to report two men were driving a 4-wheeler near Burns and Maple in Independence. Police located the vehicle at 1016 East Edison, according to Wade.  Two men ran from the vehicle into a garaged where they were arrested.

Dalton Higginbothom is being held on warrants for failure to appear, theft and interference with law enforcement. Nathan Wiebelhause is being held on requested charges of possession of stolen property and interference with law enforcement, according to Wade.
