
SHAWNEE COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities are investigating a weekend shooting and have made an arrest.
Just after 2:30p.m Sunday, police responded to the 2000 block of SE Pennsylvania in Topeka on a report of a possible aggravated battery, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.
On arrival, officers located a victim at a nearby location suffering from what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Devonte Jones, 18, and a 17-year-old suspect.
Jones was booked on requested charges Violation of Governor’s Proclamation. The 17-year-old was booked on requested charges of Aggravated Battery, Criminal Use of a Weapon and Violation of Governor’s Proclamation
