FINNEY COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident during a police chase Tuesday in Finney County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by  Monyai Lampkin, 32, Garden City, was northbound just before 2a.m. in the 5000 Block of Old U.S. 83 and actively involved in a pursuit by law enforcement.

The Chrysler left the roadway to the right and struck a 2016 Ford Explorer  that officers had parked off the roadway in the ditch.

The Chrysler continued northbound into the ditch, rolled and the driver was ejected.

EMS transported Lampkin and a passenger Cynthia Romualda Martinez, 22, Garden City, to St. Catharine Hospital.

Lampkin, who was reported as an absconder in February by the Kansas Department of Corrections, was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
